I am having a great time palying with MyBB, and can see it has promise, however I would appreciate being pointed in the direction of a thread or Wiki page with links to external sites that offer MyBB themes, plugins, tips, tricks and hacks etc.

Right now, Google is my friend, but it would be better if the info was all in one place.

Thanks,

Chris.
Well lets see here. A great source is the mods section of this site for themes and well mods Toungue.

The wiki holds tons of information if you can find your away around (I recommend the search feature as well, I can never find my way around).

Then for some external sites.
Themes:
http://mybbthemes.8ez.com/ which is run by the all famous FireFoxWiz(just to let you know she doesn't like being called a guy Toungue).

http://audentio.com/ is also very nice. He does great work but not just for MyBB.

Mods:
http://mybbsource.com/forums/ a lot of nice mods and is very open to requests.

http://mybbcentral.com/ another site with a lot of great mods and also open to requests. The only downside is it cost $5 a year to get a lot of nice mods. But it's worth and Labrocca does give money back to MyBBWink.

Also there are a few sites listed in a weird place.
On the downloads page on left you can find a "Resource Site" box which lists some other sites Wink.
Thanks both of you for your replies.

Some of the sites mentioned I had found with Google already, but there are one or two I hadn't seen which makes this thread worth it.

And most stupidly...I hadn't even noticed the "Resource Site" on the downloads page left navigation bar Huh ; but in my defense, I had just spent all of my time using the converter to 1.214, then upgrading to 1.4.2, and then having to manually drop tables in PhpMyAdmin to get rid of the "quirks" left over from the upgrade, so I was in a state of catatonia by then Confused

Being used to using Joomla as my CMS and paying to join the "Joomla template clubs", I can say that a tiny $5 per year is excellent value to access the plugins at MyBBCentral.

Many thanks for your help.

I find it very misleading here, you mention that MyBB Central has a downside that it costs $5 to subscribe and be able to download the plug ins, yet you forget to mention the fact that with MyBB Resource you have to have a minimum of 5 posts before you can download anything.

At least be fair with what you post!
Sorry lufbra I forgot. I have nothing against MyBB central. Heck I'm a subscriber there. I don't mind at all what Labrocca does as it's not just out of greed.
Jesse charging 5 bucks is a great deal actually imo and don't believe Netsage was saying anything wrong. As a matter of fact Netsage, let me quote this line here

That way next time, "which will be very soon" when lufbra runs his mouth you can kindly remind him who's calling the kettle black! ROFLMAO!! LOL...
lol thanks hemi.

You should get your facts right before posting! If you took the time to read my post, it doesn't mention anything about Netsage saying anything wrong, it says that he's missed out certain things regarding to another forum!
Oh please...everyone get back on topic. I am starting to feel uncomfortable about the extra attention everytime someone mentions the fee. Let's all try to not feel as sensative about it.

There was mybbfans.com too but it seems to have gone awry and hasn't yet updated to 1.4x. They ran a decent theme contest a while back.

I guess that's really it for external sites. A couple months ago there was actually a semi-heated discussion about creating more external sites. Some believe it's harmful to mybb but I believe it's actually helpful IF these unofficial support sites are run well. Mybb Source seems to be doing well and personally I am glad for the competition. It's always a motivator.
