ok all the other admin areas seem to work fine. but iv just notised my general configure area wont let me add info. i add it all in... and press save and it comes up with the confirm message but it changes nothing. and when i check the settings are then blank.....

the only thing i can think of was i made a mistake switching from 1.4.1 to 1.4.2 but that was when it 1st came out so im unsure.. but i cant say i notised...

Is ./inc/settings.php CHMODed to 666??

I wonder how you got past the CHMOD checks with it set as that...

does it do CHMOD checks when you update?

Well if it's a small update, no files that need to be CHMODed are even changed, so I don't quite know what you did.
