I just installed MyBB 1.4.2

and whenever I want to click on something in the Admin CP, it askes me to login.

It gets very annoying.

Is there any way to fix this, is it possible I forgot to give some folders/files read/write/exacute permissions?
do you use FireFox or IE?
Go to your config file and make sure the cookies are pointing to your domain.
You mean the settings file.

./inc/settings.php
you must edit it by the acp not directly
Well he can't do anything in the ACP can he.

As has been said many times on this forum, you must edit it in ./inc/settings.php and then edit them again in the ACP when you log in.
Good point.

Yeah, as you told me, Matt_, go to your inc/settings.php file and make your "cookie domain" whatever the domain POINTING TO YOUR HOMEPAGE is. Then, the cookie path should be the one leading to the homepage of your forums, with a slash and trailing slash.

Then edit it in the ACP and you're done.
Searching does wonders you know...

Also helps.

EDIT:

Use that to determine your cookie settings.

Indeed. So the domain should be something like .yoursite.com and the path should be something like /forums/ or just a / if you have no other sub-directory.
