Is there a way to disable the user rating system. I took away the ability to give a rating but i also want to disable the stars from showing at all and the rating box in user profile.

Do I need to do this through the templates?

you have to edit the post bit template

go into templates in your admin control

click on post bit templates then click on postbit

look for $post[replink]

delete it.
