I am currently developing a new forum. I had a question.

You know when you are at the forum home and you can see all the different categories, there is an image for read and unread posts on the left.

My question is, is it possible for me to have a different one for each category? Since it is a motorbike forum, if I have a category for the discussion of the Aprilia Falco, for example, then I would like to have a picture of that.

Is it possible?

Do you mean just have an image next to each forum or a different new/no new posts image??

Either would probably work. But I was thinking the new/old post images.

I personally don't know how to have different old/new posts images for different forums but I'm sure it's possible somehow.

As for having different images in front of each forum, that can be done with a plugin. It looks like this (click to enlarge):
