Hi,

Upgraded from 1.2.1 to 1.4.2 (via 1.2.14) recently and everything appeared to be ok. However, when I try to login as a registered user I get to the page: http://www.moortownbaptistchurch.org.uk/...member.php with the error (see attached pic) and bounced back to the login page.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Your cookie domain is wrong. You need to change it to:
.moortownbaptistchurch.org.uk
(note the dot in front is what you're missing)

You and the user should still be able to login through http://moortownbaptistchurch.org.uk/forums/ though (without the www). I suggest you login to your Admin CP here: http://moortownbaptistchurch.org.uk/forums/admin/ and change the cookie domain in the settings.
Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have tried as you suggested (adding the .) but I still get the same error. I have tried logging in from http://moortown... and http://www.moortown... but I get the same error.

I can however log in as Admin from either location.

Can I give you admin access for you to take a look?

thanks,
Nick
<bump>

Please, I really need some help with this.
My board is down and I cannot login as a regstered user.

Thanks!
Try putting .www at the start of the domain. Sometimes it's needed - I can't log out on mine if there isn't the .www at the start. If not, PM me admin details.
Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I tried that and it didn't work.
I've also tried re-setting the admin password, but now I can't login.
Any clues?

thanks,
Nick
Hi,

I've tried all suggested solutions without success.
I'm desperate now as people are using my board and I am unable to login.

Please help!

Is this hosted on a local host?? I have a feeling they have different cookie settings to forums hosted on external servers and all the things that usually work, haven't.

EDIT: Ok this comes up when logging in:

Try reuploading ./inc/functions.php??

No, problem is with inc/languages/english/member.lang.php. You probably edited this with Notepad? Please edit with another program like Wordpad, Crimson Editor, Notepad++, etc.
Ahh, I see... think functions.php was the cause last time I saw something like this.
