are you sure you use a clean version of showthread.php file?

I never edited it in the first place....

This is still the very pure version of 1.4.2 without any custom changes other than the Plugins specified.

Try uploading another copy of it, might have been corrupted somehow.

Replaced this file...

Nothing changed on my part! Btw, those are only different in no.,if I am not wrong...

Well did those....& repaired the tables too...

This problem started after I upgraded to 1.4.2(never observed before actually)...

please upload the attached file to your inc folder.
and tell me if that change anything.

Nope not working....I reverted it back to old....

The error msg didn't change at all

ok I think this is the last thing I can think about.
try the attached showthread.php file
