I want to start a referral program for my forum. Can anyone tell me how can I assign referral links to members so that they can send referrals to my forum.

There is a mod on there called EasyRefer which is probably ideal for what you need - just go check out their site...
Yeah that is a brilliant plugin, bear in mind it needs a paid subscription to get.

MyBB comes with a basic referrer tracking system. Unregistered users can put in their referrer when they register, or the referrer can give them one of two links:
http:// example.com/yourforum/index.php?referrer=<referrer's user ID>
http:// example.com/yourforum/index.php?referrername=<referrer's username>
