It's great to have news banner like the one MyBB community forum have (the colored one) to be integrated. We can display news easily.

Then, it will be better adding thread description below thread subject when posting. So user can add more information to their thread.

Auto image resizer integrated is really helpful.

I believe that there are plugins to do this, but it is way more better as a forum feature.

Anyway, not meant to say something bad about the community, I feel that MyBB mods and themes are the most little compared to SMF and phpBB.

I agree that the news bar should be made a default feature.

Although the news bar sounds simple, really there are a lot of customizations that particular boards may need:

- different colours?
- different placements? (top, bottom, stuck to the top of the browser, stuck to the bottom of the browser, etc)
- different text for each usergroup? only show to certain usergroups?
- parsing MyCode/HTML/smilies?
- show only once to user? option to dismiss news?
- multiple news items at once? different colours?
- fetch news from RSS, forum, etc?

Kind of difficult to please everybody without adding a lot of options.

Fair points well made. Looking at it like that it would seem like a lot to work through to get quite a simple thing.
