It is disabled by default so malicious users can't do bad things. If we let people use it, they may use some Javascript to redirect the browser to a malicious website. They could even use it to unleash some malware to everyone who views the post. It's a security thing.

Do you mean here or on your forum?? What Scott said applies to both but you can enable it on your own forum if you want to risk it.

You can create custom myCode if you don't want to go the full length and allow HTML code.
Alot of forums are "hacked" by people allowing HTML code, so it's always best to keep it disabled.

I think they just wanted to know why it's unselected in the forum settings by default
Unless they have confused 'why' for 'how.
