I sent out a mass PM today, my first time doing so. I was interested to see the "customization" options at the top of the message textbox and decided to address the PM "Dear [username]". However, it seems that it did not fill in the usernames and now I look slightly dumb to my users... my question is, did I use this feature correctly? If not, what should I be doing? (I'm using 1.4.3.)
Thanks in advance!
I think {username} would have been closer... that's what the PM on registration plugin uses.
Ah... that would make sense. I'll give it a try. Thanks!
Hmm, I just tried it here by sending a PM to myself and it didn't work...
He means mass PM Matt, not normal PMs
Which "version" of the PM are trying to edit? For example we have a text and a html version.
When sending a html email, of course you can use <span style="color:red;">{username}</span>.
As you're just sending a PM, it automatically defaults to text only. However, you can still use BBCode - as in...
[b]{username}[/b]
will come up as
username...
I assumed they wanted it in the subject, that's where I went wrong
