Hi,

I noticed that in MyBB 1.4.3 the miniofflock.gif is identical to the minioff.gif

[Image: miniofflock.gif] (miniofflock) http://community.mybboard.net/images/miniofflock.gif

Thus a locked subforum, looks just the same as an unread subforum. Is this intentional?

I'm not a graphics designer so I just added some red pixels to the miniofflock image:

You can include this if you like or make a nicer looking one.
I don't think it is a bug since I don't think we ever had a separate miniofflock designed. Moved to suggestions.
Well, the current behaviour is at least not very intuitive, because from index.php the subforum looks like any other normal unread subforum, and when you then click on the forum name to jump directly to the forum page, you basically get a "HA HA! Thanks for clicking but guess what, this forum is locked! Nerni-nerni-ner-ner!".

The ability to show that the subforum was locked in the first place is already there, no code has to be changed, just the image. Why not use it?

Because MyBB 1.4 is now in the "strictly code error fixes only" stage.
Usually "strictly code error fixed only" means "we don't add experimental new features right now", but changing 8x8 pixels is hardly an experimental new feature or otherwise dangerous in any way Wink

Oh well. It's your loss. :-)

No "strictly code error fixes only" means "strictly code error fixes only."

If you have questions or concerns on how we run our development procedures please elaborate and provide an explanation to why you feel that way or why those changes are necessary.
Ooh, I know! Why not include this in the next full MyBB release? 1.6, is it? It's a simple copy/paste, so there's little, if any, reason not to do it. I almost get the feeling that if it weren't brought up somewhere it's one of those tiny things that would probably been overlooked, but now it will make the next MyBB release ever so slightly better.
IMHO a red dot looks better than an X you can't really make out without squinting, but that's just me Shy

Yeh, that's another reason why we don't just go implementing a feature no matter how tiny or large it may be.

I'll talk to Justin about it and see what we can do for 1.6
Thanks Smile
