1.2.14 with several plugins:

When I add a new forum > Add A Moderator
Then the new Moderator only shows up in the "manage forums" summary in ACP, but not on the front end.

When I copy an 'extra' forum (one with no posts) > Add A Moderator
Then the new Moderator does properly show on the index.php page.

Huh

Any ideas how I can fix this?
(upgrade to 1.4.3 is not currently an option for this forum due to plugins)
