Hey there folks a quick newbie question here, I'm sure.

When I joined one of the MyBB Theme forums, the first thing I got after first login, was a PM from the system. I like this feature, but can't seem to find it anywhere in my forum settings. Am I blind?

No, your not blind It's a plug-in, it's not a default feature with Mybb 1.4.x

http://mods.mybboard.net/view/pm-on-registration - Download that plug-in and upload pmonreg.php to root/inc/plug-ins. Then go to your admin control panel and activate it in the plug-ins area. You can now head over to the settings tab and find the PM on registration settings.
