No I mean the heading with the members profile in the contact details area that says 'homepage' can this be changed???

Sure.
Admin CP --> Templates & Style --> Templates --> *Expand your template set* --> Member Templates --> member_profile -- Replace the following code with whatever you want "Homepage" to be replaced with:

{$lang->homepage}

Just plain text will do.

Also will I need to change things in the edit profile area all will they be updated accordingly?

Which edit profile area?

Are you meaning when you are editing a user's profile from the admin CP or mod CP?

No, I mean when a member goes into there edit profile area, will the things that have been removed from their profile be removed from their edit profile eg headings etc.

The first edit I gave you should have done that, if you go into your User CP (after doing the changes) you should see that the options are not available to you even.
