If you want to split posts on the showthread page the subject field is automatically filled with the subject of the thread:
[attachment=11745]
If you do the same on the search results page the subject is missing in the field.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Search for something and choose to show the results as posts.
2. Mark a post and select "Split posts" from the moderation menue.

This is an interesting one. The problem with the Search results page is that you could split posts from a number of threads. So the issue would be which thread should the subject be taken from?

Removing from 1.4 until a better solution can be made for 1.6
