Why MyBB don't use the Template Engine such as phpbb?
i think if use it, custom templates and themes will be easy
And how exactly do they do it?? And IMHO editing templates and themes is very simple and clear as it is.
Why, on any part of Earth, would you possibly want to use that pile of tripe?...
The only thing I don't like about the templates is that you can't use PHP in them, which makes it just that little bit harder (if you don't want the plugin that is)...
Either way, I find it easier than any forum software to make themes...
i used phpbb before and i made some phpbb styles, when i use MyBB i find i can't edit the templates and the theme freely.
In what way??
It's CSS and HTML... what can possibly be hard about that?
i think edit source files directly will give you more free
You'd rather edit files than have an easy editor in the ACP??
i can see a whole code in source file , but i only see a part of it in editor in ACP,i think it is not convenient.
maybe i am conditioned to edit source file
Yes because the source from a page is generated from many different templates. If you view the source you see something like <!-- start: header --> which tells you which template is being shown.
