Alright after upgrade I am getting this

Have you the problem only preferences?
You have a problem with database, you control the mybb_adminoptions in your database!

Is this the only problem with the upgrade?? Does it say 1.4.4 on the home page?? No other errors anywhere?? Sure you chose the right version to upgrade from??

Got this after upgrade. Yes it says 1.4.4 on home page. No other errors so far.

Hmm... well as this is a new thing I won't suggest anything too major yet but try reuploading ./admin/modules/home/preferences.php

I hope you ran the upgrader script.

Well it sounds like he did but I guess you can never be too sure...

Nope I didnt run any script. I just replaced all the files.

Yes, replace the files, and run ./install/upgrade.php, and select the right version you're upgrading from. This will change the database so that the field it's looking for actually exists.

I asked you if you chose the correct version and you didn't ask what I meant The thread said to run it, and the whole point the ./install/ folder is there... is because it's needed.

In future, make sure you actually read the upgrade instructions.
