Hi all having a small problem with my forum, we cant upload avatars or skins with upload button? we are running1.4 and permissions are set writeable.
I get this error The file upload failed. Please choose a valid file and try again

What's the filetype of the image you're trying to upload??
What max avatar file size do you have it set to in the acp?
You may be trying to upload a file bigger then your allowed size. In the acp you can change this to allow a bigger file.
Check these:
1) Permissions on the folders should be 777
2) Check your phpinfo to make sure you can upload and that upload path is set
3) Check phpinfo for upload max size against your files
My guess is that if you really do have the folders chmod properly that it's an issue with your php and you should contact your host.
