My 404 page doesn't seem to be working - I get the default apache one. I couldn't find any reference to 404 in the control panel, or my .htaccess file. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Link? ..your forum works well..
upgrading to 1.404 right now to see if it fixes it.

I was hoping to be able to type in :
http://www.leftfordeadforum.com/A-WHOLE-BUNCH-OF-TEXT

and be taken to a 404 page that was themed like my forum. Is this the default behavior, or should I be seeing an apache page?
My guess is you need to remove the old html file thats in their and replace it with your's.
Look on your server for the index.html file. Change that to your needs. Your board is using the index.php file.
There's no index.html file there - it's serving up the default page fine.

I think that there is no mybb default 404 page. There isn't one on this forum at least

What prompted this is that I'm getting rid of SEO pages (so that I can use the sitemap generator). I'm also purchasing an SMF forum and importing it into mybb - I'm going to have a ton of broken pages, and need to be able to handle them nicely.
anybody?

Is there a way to make a blank page that's skinned like a mybb page?
I think some hosts have the option to customise the 404 pages... I'm not sure how this works as I've never done anything with it but maybe if you put some code in there, it'd show that?? This is just an educated guess but theoretically it should at least kinda work Toungue
I figured it out guys!

I even posted a thread in the code modification forum on how to do it!
