I'd like to design a forum where any user can create new threads, but that shouldn't t make them to become 'moderators'...

So I would like to eliminate the possibility to become 'moderators' to general public (they should be in my website just plain users).

How can I do it?

(I would like to chose my website moderators by myself as administrator...)

Unless you change things, users should always be normal users and not able to edit/delete/move/etc other people's threads or posts. They will be able to edit/delete their own posts and threads, but that's all.

That's exactly how you do it... it wouldn't just randomly make people mods...
