1) deleted old files
2) Re-downloaded and put the new files in correct spots.
3) CHMOD'ed to 777
4) When I try to add anything it gives me that error message.
5) It used to work when I first installed it , but now it does not.
6) Maybe because this is from 1.4.3 and Im currently running 1.4.4 ?

Add 1 category,
add 1 download in that category and it'll be gone, actually that is no big deal.

I just installed and activated the Download Manager Plugin but theres 1 small error that I am getting that I cant seem to get it right.

The sidebar categories is not appearing though everything else seems to be working well. What can should I do to have the sidebar category appear? Appreciate any help here

I didn't know xD..
I thought it was to use like url/downloads.php?cat=X...

It was the same with me when I had it, I never got it to work, got rid of it eventually.

As you can see there is a sidebar category there, hmm I really like this plugin. Does anyone else know how to fix this or the developer is still around?

Were there any settings for it?? I can't remember...

try creating a category, then, either remove the download item that came with the plugin and then create one with the category (you created) in it, or (after creating the category) change the download item to be "under" the new category you just created.
This solved it for me.

I'm truly sorry for the missing category box. In the "Global Templates" section, do you have the downloads_categories template?

I hope that the upcoming (someday) release of Downloads Manager v2.0 will help fix many of the problems (while, of course, adding several requested features).
