Hello,

I have installed a MyBB forum in October `08 (latest version at that time) and created some forums and threads. Then i have backed-them-up. In the meanwhile, i grabbed a paid domain and installed there a
MyBB forum too, using the latest version - this happened on 7th of January `09. My question is if i can export the forum and threads from my old forum to the new one. Would really hate to open again manually all the rules and general information threads.

Old forum: http://marketing.ilive.ro/
New forum: http://marketing.fitzeshop.com/forum/

Thanx!
You can simply upload the backup you have to the newer database. However as the database is from an older version that what the files are, you may will to run the upgrade script. What version is your old forum on??

Edit: Hang on, is this on a new server, or have you just got a new domain??
Old forum: http://marketing.ilive.ro/ ---> MyBB version: 1.2.13
New forum: http://marketing.fitzeshop.com/forum/ ---> MyBB Version 1.4.4

Both servers still exist. I want the threads that i have created on the #1 forum (the old one) to be copied on the new forum (check the second link, new forum) and thus, sparing me some precious time that i would otherwise be spending creating manually stept-by-step each thread/subforums/etc.
I have backed-up the both forums. Detected the saving path. Took the old forum bk-up and moved it to the new forum bk-up path, replacing. Nothing happened - i believe it needs some kind of installation. Mirite ?
Right, so they are on different servers. And if you were on 1.2.13 in October 08, you weren't on the latest version at that time... right, go onto the old forum, go to the settings page, open the General Configuration settings, and change the board URL and cookie settings to match the new URL. Then make a backup, drop all the tables in the newer database, and upload the backup. Then go to http://marketing.fitzeshop.com/forum/ins...pgrade.php, choose 1.2.13 from the list, and follow the steps.
Worked perfectly! Thanx, mate! Good luck with your driving... as many cowpies as possible, LOL Toungue
Cheers!
