does MyBB 1.4 have search engine friendly URL's by default ? Can it be enabled without any addons or mods?
somewhere I saw
http://www.sitename.com/thread-1012.html
likewise. How to make such URL's.
Thanks.
I have version 1404 of mybb.
ACP > Configuration > Server and Optimization Options > Enable search engine friendly URLs? > Enabled. You'll need to rename your htaccess.txt file to .htaccess, and also remember this doesn't work on all servers.
Keep in mind that there is a plugin that will create a sitemap for you, but it's not compatible with the SEO urls. You end up having to pick between a sitemap and pretty URLs.
For me personally, I think it's more important to sumbit a good sitemap to google, since they can already read my non-seo urls.

Why would it not be compatible? You can still use the non SEO URLs as they will still work.
The SEO urls are not really that affective anyway. I think it would be better if they used keywords in the URL. So instead of:
http://community.mybboard.net/thread-43375.html
you would have something like:
http://community.mybboard.net/search-eng...43375.html

Simple solution then: use another plugin

You're welcome to test my Google SEO plugin...
