Hi does anyone know of an easy to use, open source, php based, documentation system. Preferred one that can be connected to MyBB and themed as MyBB.
After a long time test, I found that MyBB (as good as it is a forum system) is very difficult to "change" it to a documentation systems. The way MyBB treats text is limited (even when adding all the MyCode / BBcode plugins that deal with text) and is problematic with pictures.
don't get me wrong - I love MyBB as a forum systems and I will get it working on my site. Just not as a system for documents.

thanks,

You will actually need a plugin coder who can do it. It is possible to use MyBB as a documentation thing.
MyBB is a forum system, it was never "designed" to be a system to hold documents. Your best option is to choose a Wiki (DokuWiki, MediaWiki) if you're wanting something like that.

There are bridges for both these systems to share a MyBB user database so users can login to both with the same credentials (just like here at http://wiki.mybboard.net/). The templates however will need some big modifications to get it to work.
I think MediaWiki is great, here's a plugin for it: http://community.mybboard.net/thread-150...#pid272186
Thanks Tom & Matt,
I did think of both of this systems at the beginning of the project. The problem with both is that, one: at there base they both are Wiki system - that means that the system want everybody to share and/or change the content (I know they have a user based permissions - but...), two: non of them has a (good, if any) translation into Hebrew - almost all my users do not read English as there first language (and as so, why should I make it difficult for them).
