Hello
I noticed that the [Image: spinner.gif] spinner.gif fades from black to white. That will not quite suit a dark background.

As gif supports transparency, can it be modified so that the black bars fade to transparency but not white?

Cheers
EDIT: The fade-to-white is not quite noticeable with this thread background color here. You can try displaying it on a dark background.
The spinner is made for the default MyBB theme, not custom ones.

Of course, you can replace it with whatever you want. http://www.ajaxload.info/ is an example service where you can create one to suit whichever colours you're using.
Also, the GIF file format doesn't support partial transparency. It's either a fully colored pixel, or fully transparent. It's just too bad that it's the only common animated format on the web.
Yea, however APNG seems to be a pretty good replacement. http://people.mozilla.com/~dolske/apng/demo.html
APNG has rather low support, even if it's IE stopping it.
Still, animated GIFs and APNG are just a series of images >_> What should become more popular are animations which use video compression techniques, not just image compression...
