Can anyone guess as to why lately my forum is bogging down really bad, and slows down everything else, and when I put up the windows resource monitor it shows to be using over 60% of available resources where as this site is falling in at about 9% - 11%

So my question is what is it reading through for all this time and requiring so much of the resources?

The url (also in my sig) http://custodialgrandparents.com

A few notes: The flash banner has been there for some time and causes no issues.
The only recent changes made have been adding a line to the header template to display board messages, and another for the rules page icon to display, but this was happening before that, but the plug-ins have been implemented some time ago and only now have figured out how to get them to actually display.

It seems more prevalent in FireFox than IE, although the usage goes higher in IE, my screen responses are faster, but in FireFox, it takes up to a minute or more for any click to register.

Mind you this is happening while the screen is idle and nothing is being loaded, just sitting on the page is doing it alone.

I am also having an issue with forum views, where the footer is being displayed before the forums are as seen here http://www.custodialgrandparents.com/for....php?fid=3

I am assuming this is related, but am not sure since this has been this way longer than the lag has, and nothing else I can think of has changed.

Can someone please debug this for me? I have been trying to figure out the footer issues for over a week, but this lag has been only so for a couple of days, in fact I only noticed it after installing a huge Os store package on another site, which has nothing to do with this one except that they are on the same shared server, however this other site is not currently running any processes, it is just sitting there awaiting configuration!

Thanks for any and all help!

Can you post the debug info from the footer of your forum?? I don't really know what to do with it but I think it'll be useful to someone Toungue
Wait.. your computer is going slow on your website? Because it's perfectly fine for mine. It's probably just your browser, I use FF3 which is always using a bunch of resources so I can't tell, but I think a problem would be your computer can't handle Firefox so well anymore. Maybe.. clean it up? (Also, what's your processor & ram?)
You're talking about client CPU usage (i.e. resources required by your browser when you open your forum) or server side CPU usage?

For me it's definitely the Flash that is causing load on the client... especially since Flash reloads the animation and everything on every page (in every tab... it multiplies). Other than that I don't notice anything out of the ordinary on your forum.
Thanks for the support all, but I think I figured it out....I use FF's webdev tools and along with it firebug, and when I opened the console the other day(not sure which tab I was in) it had locked up and all I got was a gray blank window.
so when I tried to use it to see what the processes were in the generated page in sequence, it wouldn't work, so I since disabled it and restarted FF, but I still had the same issue, BUT after closing that tab, and then opening it based on your responses, it was not longer doing it, however the footer problem is still there!

I once had a similar problem with the older firebug, where it would cache the source and even though closed, would not allow a server refresh, and yes to answer your questions it was my HOME computer 3.06ghz Pentium IV? with 2gb ram and about 1000gb hard disk space total, that would bog down everything I did in FF when on that tab, if I moved to MOST other tabs, it would resume normally, however, those others I had this experience were the ones I previously used firebug, so since it is gone and so are those tabs, all else is well.

So if someone can see this footer problem answer that would be great!
Thanks all,
TSG!
You need to look at what cpu and memory the web server process is using, eg apache, not firefox or IE
Nah Dennis, it resolved by removing firebug, like I said, I did check my server usage and it is withing normal limits, except for bandwidth spiking a bit this month, but that if from the damn pornbots i can't seem to keep off the site, although captcha and email activation prevents them from posting, but the emails are killing me, and am considering implementing a server side email insert through a form, rather than the current 'mailto:' for the contact email.

How about looking in to the footer problem for me though? I have spent over a week trying to figure why it is being called this way, and cannot find anything to account for it!

Thanks,
