eg: forum is installed at http://www.example.com/forum

i want to show 5 latest post outside the forum

eg: main page http://www.example.com/index.php

how can i do that ?

Yes, news is just what it's called. By news, it means a forum where news is posted, maybe an announcements forum, so you just change the settings.

i want to show latest posts posted from all forums like in invision board and smf there is mod which pulls out mods from the forum onto outside forum directory.

Set it up to use more than one forum?? I'm sure that if you just take a look at the settings, you'll be able to get it to do what you want.
