I am new to forum administration. I like MyBB. I have it running on a Mac to see what it is capable of. So far, I'm real impressed. Thanks for making it free. I truly appreciate your work. MySQL, PHP are not easy to code.

I like the way MyBB Community Forums is organized on this site.

I want to copy what you have here for my board.

How do I make separate forums under my board? I can't set a new forum as its own parent.

How do I make announcements appear at the top with a gray background like you have here?

Hope this hasn't troubled you too much.

1) Separate forums
Set up a new forum in the AdminCP and select No for the "Act as a Forum".
This will make it into a category. Then you can use this category as the parent.

2) The Announcements like here on the board...the easiest way is probably the Board Message -plugin here http://mods.mybboard.com/modifications.php?vid=6&cid=8
