Ok I am new at MyBB so please excuse me if this post is out of place. I did a forum search on this and found nothing relevant to it. Ok here is the problem I have just installed the software and now when I go to my forum page I get the following error

Error
The installer is currently locked, please remove 'lock' from the install directory to continue

You won't be seeing that if you're on the forum index... do you mean the installation page??

The lock file is there to enable you to view the forum, that error won't show if you're on the forum itself, only when you try and access the ./install/ folder when it's locked.

Hmm ok I see what I have done wrong then I unpacked it to my root folder so my install folder is the same as my root folder. Looks like I will have to delete and do it again
