The plugin was updated for MyBB1.4, and I think it works just fine, even though I haven't tested it much.

I just checked and the only options are two or three columns, so you would need custom coding.

do you have any idea how can i edit it to make them just 1 column only?

It should some plugin modification so that it allign subforums in one column only
