I installed Ubuntu Hardy Heron on my laptop and cannot get it to connect to the internet. Dodgy I entered my router's settings correct. It loaded like it was connecting but it never did.

So does anyone know how to do this? I would really appreciate it!
My phone does that sometimes Sad

Do you have an intel wireless card? They seem to work the best, maybe try find newer drivers or something? Ask on ubuntu.org.
I have the same problem with a Broadcom card but I just use the laptop with my DSL cable plugged in. There are a lot of posts about using a wireless connection with Ubuntu on their forums. Try starting here: http://ubuntuforums.org/forumdisplay.php?f=336
you could try connecting it to the internet using a wire and updating the system.
Well lets try a few things first.

1) is you wifi card detected? if not you need a new one

2) check and make your within range of the router

3) upgrade to 8:10 Intrepid Ibex

4) try the wifi program

5) post this topic on ubuntuforums

Hope that helps
