In my mybb 1.4.4 installation I have selected Registration Method as through Administration activation.

But I am not receiving any mail saying there is a pending activation. I have tried both PHP mail and SMTP. Using SMTP option I am facing timeout error using Gmail SMTP. PHP mail works while for other mails (such as private messages and mass mailing)

Is it not in feature list that an email goes to the administrator informing there is a new registration which need to be activated?

You don't be default, needs a plugin.

Again, when I activate a user from admin control, will an email be sent to the new user stating that he is added in?
