I have a small forum running right now but want a test forum so I can try things on the test forum rather than my public forum. What's the best way to duplicate my forum? Copy it to a test directory? Or install a second forum from the installer. Also, for this test forum should I use a copy of the database or would it not matter? Thanks!

it's better to install another forum on a /test directory. But, more better it's to install xampp and test on your localhost.

I agree, XAMPP is best. you can get it from here: http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html#641

You can just backup the database and upload it to a test forum, either on a love server or localhost.
