I had a template made for an earlier version of mybb, 1.2. I'm very confused. Is it a theme or a template? What is the difference? Mine was for a handyman forum. It had and made the board look like a handyman forum.

I don't know what I'm installing or what file I'm looking for. I do have a folder with icons, images, etc that were made for my board.

well, the folder with all the icons and images should be your theme, a template is where all the codes are located, if you wanted to edit them to your liking, and with the icons and images folders you should have a xml file which you upload to your site though your admin control panel.

A theme is a colour scheme and images etc, a template is HTML and are sued by themes.
