RE: How to restore my database backup, STEP BY STEP please.?
hi guys. thanks for developing and maintaining a great product.
had to do a reinstall, but made a backup, .sql file.
we're hosted on a windows 2003 server with fasthosts.co.uk.
i read about this forum and understand we have to delete/drop all the existing tables before trying to run the backup.
we dont have any phpmyadmin or any other such product, so i have two questions
1, can i use toad? i cant get phpmyadmin to work on this pc and it seems like a lot of effort, cos i've mucked up somewhere. mybb runs like a dream tho (locally, that iis localhost and mysql server 5.01)
2. so assuming i can drop the files ok in toad (freeware)
what do i do to get this sql script to run and restore all the forums that were created?
can answers be step by step please.
just simple clean steps.
phpinfo works fine in case anybody asks.
