What plugins do you have installed? Also, do any of the ones you have installed modify the thread titles?

i havent installed anything I just press conver to utf8

So you converted the tables to utf8 and now it shows stars instead of the title? I'm assuming you had non-utf8 characters and the titles, and when it converted - it replaced them with stars.
