I have uploaded all the files to my server. When I go to the upgrade page and select 1.2.2 and click the next button it goes to the page that says it is
Performing Queries

Performing necessary upgrade queries..

but nothing is below it or next button

If I select the above version 1.2.3, 1.2.4 and so on and click next it goes to the next page and there is a next button. There seems to be something wrong with your code upgrading from 1.2.2

I've done about 3 1.2.2 to 1.4.x upgrades, and I always had to go via 1.2.14. I don't really know why, all I know is there's some sort of problem with going from 1.2.2 to 1.4.x but it works when you go via 1.2.14.

Thanks for the reply. I will try this. I don't want to mess up anything like a version didn't have some file it needed so the upgrade won't work.
