i do not want to display the "Sub Forums" on my forum start-page.
how/where can i turn this feature off - in the admin tool?

Go to your AdminCp > Configuration > Settings.. Find Forum Home Options...
Find:
Subforums to show on Index listing
Change the value to 0

i set the variable in the "home Options" to "0" - but it happens nothing.
the sub-forums are already on the start-page.
it seems that none of the settings in "home Options" will show an affect on my page.

Let me be sure were on the same page here.. You're referring to the small links with the little grey/blue dots next to them right?
yes i mean the the grey/blue dots and the "Sub Forum"-Names under the "Main-Forum" on the forum start-page.
i do not want to display all the sub-forums on the the startpage.
If that setting is at zero, try to clear your browsers cache..
Also, do this.. Go to your ACP > Tools & Maintenance > Cache Manager
and clear the "forums" cache.
That might be affecting it also.. it's most likely your browser though.
the same problem ... after clearing the forums-cache ...
the sub-forum-names are still on the start-page under the forums-title ...
