This is a myBB modification that has not yet been started. I will be using this on my website regardless of its popularity here. In the case that no one is in particular need of this mod, this will serve as a placeholder for me to know the development status of my mod.

This modification will allow either fiction, non-fiction, or otherwise. If the main author wants to, he can allow any or all other authors to contribute (like an RP story).

I will work on this in my free time, so development may go slowly. After, coming fresh from phpBB, I haven't yet gotten a feel for myBB's coding structure. Give it time and be patient.

Actually, not more. I didn't read it right the first time. Sorry.

I like the admin/author options and hope you'll make a separate admin panel.

I think I could use this mod on my board (not open yet).

Quite a big mod you are going to have here.

Some suggestions
-add a rating for the story. This could be a simple reputation system for users, like "yes this is worth a 1". Or you could make it part of the comments (means you have to write feedback before you can 'vote' for it).
-story of the day, random story, top 5 stories
-integration into profile (view stories for this user)
-search for stories?
-user controlled stories. If the story requires multiple posts (it's being written?) then allow the user to lock it until it's finished.
-a drop down list or radio buttons for things like "complete story", "work in progress" etc) or maybe even a category list as well (fiction, romance, sci-fi).

Some things that popped into my head.

I think it is a good idea, but not usefull for any of my forums (yet ).

I am thinking about adding these from your list:
-Rating system (independant from comment system)
-integration to profile
-Story search (maybe also search within story)
-lock story until finished
-dropdown for story status
-dropdown for category when creating new story.
