hello

i tried to register at my forums so many time but i cant register.

getting error in image verification like

The image verification image you are trying to check does not seem to exist.


so why it happening.

is there any way to disable image verification from register page.

Just registered fine. Are you sure you're entering it correctly....??

If you really must turn it off, ACP > Configuration > General Configuration > CAPTCHA Images for Registration & Posting > Off. Remember spammers will be harder to stop now.

but how can spammers will be stopped by switching it on

if a user register at my site and enters verification image correctly then also he can spam my site.

You can turn on the Askimet plugin that comes with MyBB. This will provide some decent protection against spammers in the first degree.

What I mean was, someone could potentially write a program to register loads of accounts and post a lot of messages... CAPTCHA prevents that, that's the point of it. But Akismet is quite good too.

where is Askimet plugin?

how to switch it on?

As it's a plugin, unsurprisingly it's in the plugins section of the ACP.
