I have uploaded off.png, offlock.png, and on.png to the images dir, they show up next to the .gif ones, I have changed the Index Page Templates, index template as below, but the .gif buttons are still showing on the forum (cache has been cleared). On removing the .gif buttons only the wording shows on the forum. Need some help in sorting this out please?

They're in some of the forumbit templates too, that's where they're used more often, the bit in the index is just a legend.
Thank you for such a fast reply MattRogowski, however I have just been through them and was unable to find anything to change. Very new at doing this, so apologies if I am missing the obvious.

In forumbit_depth2_cat and forumbit_depth2_forum, replace all instances of .gif with .png, and maybe then clear your cache.
