Plugin: Light Box
Open the image attachments the same way as Joomla does.
Description: The image attachments will be opened using Java Script transparency over your forum window. It uses JS code wrote by Lokesh Dhakar. The code can be found at: http://www.lokeshdhakar.com/projects/lightbox2/.
NO HIDDEN LINKS
How to install:
Copy the file lightbox.php in: /inc/plugins folder
Copy all the other files in the respective folders on your server (images, css and javascrips folders)
Activate from AdminCP

It is something I work on. I am not sure when I will release the next version of it (I promised to release some other plugins) but the next one will have some neath features.

I have already done such a plugin some days ago: Lightbox 2 for MyBB

Our plugins works quite similar, but your plugin has a bug: When someone wants to open a thumbnail without permissen to do that he see a all the time a spinning top and no image.

btw: My plugin doesn't change any template and so it works independent from the user-choosen design.

But nice work.

Thank you very much for pointing me this. What you point out as a bug is intended, and is not a bug. If you want the guests to see the images or to download the attachments you will give them the permission in the AdminCP. If you don't want them to see that; you will not give them the permissions to see/download the attachments.
But because you pointed it I will make it simpler for the admin to chose if he wants the guests to see or not the images.
And by the way, mine doesn't add links on the forum page. Also the license is GPL

Your demo site is very slow. I can't get it to load, just the page title shows and the connection will eventually time out. tried it yesterday and just now. Looks like you're hosting from home?

Anybody installed this who can link me to an example on his forum?

You are right, I am hosting from a VPN server in my basement
