Hi Thor,

nice plugin, but have the feel I seen such a plugin some day before...

Ah, I know: I already made a plugin for this work: Google Analytics for MyBB.

btw. my plugin doesn't change any template and so it works independent from the user-choosen design. Wink

PS: Do you want to make a similar version to all of my plugins? Becaue I work for a gallery-plugin (like coppermine but direct included in mybb). I can give you my code so you can a create a "Thor's copy" within a narrow time frame. Rolleyes

May be Labrocca's one? Or this one: http://mods.mybboard.net/view/google-ana...ed-turkish released in September 2008? Or this one: http://mods.mybboard.net/view/google-analytics-plugin released 10 days before yours?

My dear friend, if you take a look at the code you will see that my code is total different form your code or the other 4 or 5 Google Analytics plugins released before yours.
The issue with the one you released is that the code is very similar with Labrocca's code. If you don't trust me you can check it at: http://www.mybbcentral.com/thread-1641.html and that plugin was released on Sep 18, 2008. I would suggest to take a look at that one.
Also you can check coppermine because they already have a bridge for MyBB, also Gallery2 has one, I don't recall the links, but before doing something that can be under copyright check it first.

And, no, I am not trying to release the same plugins as you are releasing, if you check my test site (in my signature) you will see that I have a schedule and I am releasing the plugins from that schedule.
Labrocca's only works with Urchin tracker. Nice plugin.

Sorry, can't download and compare the plugins because I have no permissions to download attachments there...

I'm not working on a bridge. I'm working on a direct in mybb integrated gallery so nobody need to install a seperate software like coppermine. Wink But that was my false - I'm not very good in english language and so my post was a little bit unwell-spoken.

best regards querschlaeger

It is exactly your code, the only difference Labrocca is using the old GA code (Urchin tracker) yours the new one. But the code is the same.

That would be great, I will use it if you don't add the link in it (if is good enough I will use it even with the link). I have something like this in my schedule, but if you release yours before mine, I will not work on mine anymore and as I said I will use what you release given is doing what I need to do... not too much.
There seems to be a shortage of plugins that are doing Analytics right now... so maybe I should integrate Google Analytics into my Google SEO plugin, too. What do you think? Smile

On a more serious sidenote, does this plugin do anything besides putting a piece of code on every page (something that you could also do by putting something in your template, with no plugin at all)? Or is providing an easy configuration setting for the Google API Key or something all there is to it?

If you want to integrate it in your plugin, please feel free to do it, I do not want anything in return, and considering that the license is GPL, you can use the code as you want. Also, now that you stated your intention, as I said, I agree with it totally. Smile

The plugin does exactly what you say it does. It puts the code for google analytics in the footer of your forum pages (all of them). This was something that other GA plugins lacked of.
Again you are right to say it is easier to modify your templates, but are users that doesn't know how or are afraid not to screw something. This plugin is addressing that kind of users.
The only think that users have to do is to add the GA ID in the settings section of the AdminCP.
Let me point you to a few of others plugins coded by me - to be sincere I need feedback on them and I can't get an (And your feedback is great to be sincere):

http://community.mybboard.net/thread-44316.html
I would love to have some feedback from yo for these ones.
Judging from your test site and demos you seem to be doing good work. However I have a policy that is free open source software, so if a plugin is released under a non-free license, or requires registration, or puts backlinks and credits on my page, I just won't use it, no matter how good it is.
