This has been mentioned in various places but I'll post it here again anyway.
It seems some people edit their cookie settings during the installation, and then encounter a login error as soon as they try and login. Often there's a person who has a newly installed forum, saying they can't login, and their settings are nowhere near what the installer would make so it's obvious they changed them.
I'd suggest that they're greyed out in some way on the installer, and when you click the text box, there's some kind of message asking them if they're sure they want to edit them, and if they know what they're doing. If they see it's editable they may think it needs to be edited, whereas if it's greyed out, they may just ignore it and let it use the settings already there.
