I'm just curious, if I have every file/folder in my entire MyBB installation with permissions of 777, are there any potential security threats, or issues that I have to worry about? Or should it be fine?

I don't know if it would be a security risk but would you really need to do that?? I can't see any real benefits... just curious

No, but it's just easier to CHMOD my entire forum directory (when using one) than to select the specific files and folders.
