Before 1.4 I use act as forum but somehow I cannot find it anymore.
Perhaps it has now another name but this is what I mean.

No thats not what I want.

You see the forum: MyBB 1.2 Series
The subforums are: MyBB 1.2 General Support and Merge System for MyBB 1.2

I also want to have some look-a-likes as subforums Merge System for MyBB 1.2

That is precisely what I linked you to. If you read it, you'll see you need to set the forum as a category. It says to edit the forumbit_depth2_category template. That is how it's done here. Those forums are categories, and the template edits stated in that thread are used.
