sorry for this being probably the millionth thread about this, i've searched other threads and i still don't have the answer :|

anywho, let me get to the point.

since i upgraded from 1.2 to 1.4, the text editor at the top of the textarea isn't showing. i tried re-uploading all the jscript files and such, but i'm still getting nowhere.

because of this, the clickable smilies box doesn't seem to want to work either.

this is becoming a major pain and i've tried everything i can think of. i've reverted all the templates back and such, and it's still not working.

anybody got any ideas what the problem could be? :/

No need, I think I can see the problem already. Your headerinclude template is trying to load 1.2 versions of javascript files.

./forums/jscripts/general.js?ver=1212

Change the 1212 to 1400 and view a diff report to see if you're missing anything else.
