I need to know what the variable of $post['avatar'] is and the url? Where can i find this out?

I am trying to show my website profiles on the forums profile. Where the avatar is now. I want it to show the members photo. I need to know what the variable of $post['avatar'] is and the url? I have to edit those files and see where it is being set. Modify the place where it is set to use the osDate related url as value.
Anyone know how I can view this varible and the url?
