Where are the themes stored? Our forum was hacked. Seems all they have done is overwritten a file. I have replaced the index.php file from an older backup with no luck still showing the hacked page. The reset of the forum is fine, so it seems, just when accessing /index.php
The themes are stored in the database.
Well, the templates, which are the more important bits, are in the database, yeah. Uploading ./index.php won't do anything if they've edited the template, just revert it to default in the ACP.
I tried switching themes and that didn't change anything. Where is the DB?
If they've edited all the index templates, it would still show. No need to go into the database if you can check the index template is default in the ACP first.
default in the ACP first? sorry?
In the templates manager, check that the index template is default. It sounds like they've just edited that, no need to go into the database when it can probably be sorted in the ACP.
Yep that's what they did, what should that consist of?
Well, just make sure it's default. What colour is the name of the 'index' template.
should contain at least the below in the body

{$header}
{$forums}
{$footer}
